The Art of the Prototype: Bringing Geometry to Life
When it comes to high-end custom jewelry design, the magic lies entirely in the engineering. A client recently challenged us to create a bold, modern geometric statement ring that beautifully harmonized different stone cuts into an asymmetrical, fluid layout.
To ensure the balance, scale, and stone seating were flawless, our master designer began right at the bench with a multi-colored concept wax model. This highly detailed wax assembly acts as the physical blueprint for the casting process, mapping out exactly how the individual bezel settings for the trillion, princess, and round cut stones will seamlessly interconnect.
The Transformation: Casting, Setting, and Polishing Once the wax architecture was perfected, the ring transitioned into the casting phase. The wax is melted away in a process called "lost-wax casting," leaving a perfect mold cavity ready to be filled with molten gold.
As you can see in the final finished piece, the results are nothing short of spectacular. The warm gold curves sweep elegantly around the finger, creating a high-contrast backdrop for the exceptionally crisp, brilliant stones. Each stone is safely enclosed in a thick, hand-burnished bezel setting, protecting the fragile corners of the trillion and princess cuts from daily wear.
Peace of Mind for a Lifetime We believe custom jewelry should be built to outlast generations. That’s why this completed geometric ring didn't just leave our shop looking beautiful—it was handed over with a certified retail replacement appraisal for insurance purposes and our ironclad Lifetime Warranty on craftsmanship.
