Recently, a client came into our Arden-Arcade studio with a beautiful idea. She wanted to take her loose princess-cut diamonds and repurpose them into two matching—yet distinctly unique—necklaces to gift to her daughters.
The Design: Stark Jewelers Classic Architecture
To give these classic princess-cut diamonds a modern, bold new life, we opted for a signature Stark Jewelers Classic architectural design. We designed sleek, geometric pyramid-shaped heads. Instead of traditional prongs, which can catch on clothing, we utilized a clean bezel setting to frame the sharp lines of the princess cuts securely and stylishly.
Behind the Bench: Bringing the Pyramids to Life
Creating these clean, architectural lines requires absolute precision from our goldsmiths. Here is a peek behind the curtain at how these pieces were made:
The Foundation: We started with the raw metal casting of the pyramid heads, which you can see fresh from the mold.
The Heat: Our jeweler applies intense torch heat to prepare the metal components for diamond setting.
The Setting: Princess-cut diamonds have sharp corners that require expert handling. The piece is secured in the diamond setter while the jeweler meticulously works the metal bezel over the diamond's edges.
The Refinement: To ensure the geometric lines are razor-sharp, hand-filing is essential. You can see this careful shaping process below.
The Shine: Finally, a trip to the polishing wheel gives the precious metal its brilliant, mirror-like finish.

For one daughter, we created a minimalist, elegant single-pyramid pendant.
